New murals, new classes, and a great collaboration
Aug 22, 2026
It's been a busy few weeks in the studio, and I wanted to share a proper update — there's fresh paint going up on Pepys Walk, a whole year of art classes now locked in for 2027, and some exciting news about a florist friend of mine.
Fresh paint on Pepys Walk
For the past two weeks I've been quietly working away on a new mural project — a series of painted boards designed to be fixed directly onto the brickwork along Pepys Walk. They've been created very much in keeping with the murals already there, so they sit naturally alongside the existing artwork rather than competing with it. There's also a practical side to the project: the boards are positioned strategically to cover areas that have recently been hit by graffiti, turning a bit of an eyesore back into something the whole community can enjoy.
The first board has already been erected, and it's been lovely to see it up and settled into its spot. The remaining two boards will follow in the next few days, so if you're passing through Pepys Walk soon, keep an eye out — the full set should be complete very shortly. I'll share photos as each one goes up.
2027 art classes are here
If you've tried to book onto one of my classes recently, you'll know that most of my 2026 sessions are now fully booked — thank you, as ever, for such wonderful support this year. With that in mind, I've spent the past little while planning out an entire year of new classes for 2027, and I'm delighted to say the full programme is now live.
You'll find a poster in the shop window with all the headline dates, and seasonal leaflets are available to take away if you'd like something to pin up at home or pop in your bag. Everything — course dates, half-day workshops, and pricing — is also up on the website, so do have a browse whenever suits you. Whether you're after a regular weekly fix of Wednesday morning painting or an evening course with friends, there should be something to suit.
Kate Chadsey is back — and a wreath-making workshop is joining the calendar
A few weeks ago, florist Kate Chadsey and I ran our first Arrange and Paint session together, and it was such a success that we simply had to do it again. I'm thrilled to confirm that Kate and I will be teaming up once more in the New Year for another round of these guided, relaxed sessions — arranging beautiful seasonal flowers before capturing them in paint.
Alongside that, we're also adding a wreath making workshop to the calendar, running early in December — a lovely, festive way to spend an afternoon creating something beautiful to take home for Christmas.
Both sessions, along with all the exact dates, can be found in the Art Classes section of the website.
It's shaping up to be a wonderful year ahead, and I can't wait to share it with you — whether that's on a painting course, at a workshop with Kate, or simply spotting the new murals next time you're on Pepys Walk.
