This beautiful butterfly is the rare Marsh Fritillary. A lovely gentleman commissioned me to paint one on a burnt tip orchid to remind him of his walks on Martin Down near Salisbury. I have tried to make the butterfly and one orchid the main visual by blurring the background. This was painted with oils and its owner was very pleased with the results.
