Gestural expressionistic paintings

I found myself challenged by a friend to read an article about a hyper realist painter who began painting with gestures rather than with precise strokes. I decided to give it a try, limiting myself to an hour. This allows you to think carefully about which lines matter, you make decisions based on feelings and intuitions, not just on what you see. This isn’t easy but the results have proved satisfying because they have more of ‘me’ in them.
