These are all paintings which I have produced in the last year. I am fascinated by nature and love to experiment with different mediums to capture what I see. I am fortunate to be able to put my hand to most mediums which allows me to be versatile in choosing methods that convey the atmosphere I want to create.

Some of the paintings have already been sold but high quality prints can be purchased from the shop.

I promised myself a while back that I would paint a ‘Look up’ series focusing on trees I love. Apparently, as a small child, I was forever tripping up because I used to walk and run with my chin up…not much has changed! This tree is on the Headmasters lawn at the school I currently teach at. It is a huge London Plane tree and has the most beautiful structure and bark.

Acrylic and oil pastel on canvas - 60cm x 120cm £995

Summer Stillness - Oil and Oil pastel on canvas - 120cm x 100cm - £1995

I have always loved reflections, the way they move with the gentle bob of the water. This is a New Forest scene near Lyndhurst and Brockenhurst in Hampshire, I have painted two from this area. I am drawn in by the contrasts of greens and blues with the almost fluorescent orange radiating from the stream bed. This took a few months to paint mainly due to layers of oil needing to dry before adding the next. I love using sennelier oil pastels as a final touch, they make particular areas pop with colour and a smoothness to the water which I love.

Walk with me - Mixed medium on Fabriano paper - 30cm x 40cm - £495

This painting in one of the many gorgeous views from a dog walk recently, and kind of sums up what I love about winter light. Pale blues, mint greens contrasting with soft oranges and pinks, and where the frost hasn’t had time to melt in the shadows, bright blues and purples jump out at you. This was a purposefully long walk, I can’t tell you how much pleasure I get from being in the moment and just appreciating the beauty of nature.

Look up - mixed medium on canvas 100cm x 100cm £1250

This was painted in the gallery/shop that runs from 25th May until the 9th June. It’s of a beautiful birch tree in the Cathedral close. I was mesmerised by the dappling light on the bark and branches and the fresh greens of the Spring leaves moving in the wind. This is an acrylic painting with added textural areas with oil pastel.

RIver Avon - £695 oil and oil pastel on Fabriano paper 30cm x 40cm SOLD - PRINTS AVAILABLE

The River Avon rises in the Cotswold hills, runs through Salisbury and completes its journey in Avonmouth near Bristol. It is an incredible source of wildlife boasting over 64 species of water birds and also multiple flora and fauna like the Loddon pondweed which can be seen in this painting. I love this place, no matter what time of year, it is a source of peace and tranquility and it refreshes my soul.

Spring in the Avenue - Mixed Medium on Fabriano paper 30cm x 40cm £350

I have walked this tree lined avenue in Grovely Woods many times, in every season. In the Spring, the light is fresh, full of lime greens with new leaves and shoots bursting forth. I have tried to capture the early morning light kissing the light tones of these beautiful Beech trees.

View from the Mill - Mixed medium on paper, 55cm x 40cm - SOLD PRINTS AVAILABLE

This is a commission piece that I painted recently. The view is from The Mill over looking the water meadows with the view of Salisbury Cathedral in the background. This view is fantastic any time of the year and is a popular place for people to paddle their feet in during the summer months. I love the nakedness of the branches in the winter light.

Frosty River Walk - Mixed medium on Fabriano paper 40cm x 30cm - £450 SOLD, Prints available.

This is a painting of the river Avon in Amesbury. I often walk from Amesbury to Salisbury, following the river and it twists and turns through breath-taking scenery. You can’t beat the beauty of the Winter light on a crisp sunny day, everything glistens and sparkles and the colours are beautifully crisp.

Lake view 1 - oil and oil pastel on Fabriano paper 30cm x 30cm - £595

Lake View 1 - Oil and Oil pastel on Fabriano paper 30cm x 40cm - £550 This is my second view from Damerham lakes. Trying to capture the tranquility of this beautiful place

Lake View 2 - oil and oil pastel on paper 30cm x 40cm - £695

Both of these paintings are of Damerham lakes where I fly fish every Summer. I can’t express how tranquil and peaceful this place is, I’m hoping these paintings convey just that.

I decided to paint this blossom tree on a dark, damp miserable November day in anticipation of a crisp, bright Spring morning. This is quite a large canvas which is currently being exhibited in my gallery/shop in Salisbury. Acrylic on canvas, 120cm x 85cm - £995 -SOLD

Paradise - Acrylic on canvas 100cm x 100cm - SOLD

This is a celebration of the beauty of the flora and fauna from my recent trip to Madeira. The combinations of the rich greens and browns of the foliage, coupled with the vibrancy of the contrasting colours of the flowers was breathtakingly stunning!. I did many studies whilst on holiday and then prepared a composition once I returned home. I have tried hard to capture the saturation of colour, but nothing can really mimic the vibrancy of the real thing.
