New Direction New series
For the first time in my life, I can say that I’m incredibly proud of the Art work I produce. This has nothing to do with technical ability, as though I have suddenly improved, but more from an inner confidence of believing in myself and really valuing what I can do. I have had interest from a number of galleries recently but rather than ‘jumping in’ and seizing the opportunity, I have decided to produce a new body of work to reflect this new found confidence; taking my time and producing my best work to date.
This new series entitled ‘ORA’, will mainly focus on coastal paintings from the Cornwall and Dorset coastline. I have visited a number of places in those areas recently and I want to reflect how stunningly beautiful they are through my artwork.
OSTIA - Acrylic on canvas 60cm x 90cm.
This is the first painting in the ORA series. My son and I climbed these rugged paths and were met with numerous breathtaking views. I think I’ve managed to capture the heat of the Summer day and the coolness of the sea breeze. I shared this painting with an Acrylic painting forum on social media a few days ago and received over 13,000 likes which was incredibly encouraging.
BAIA Acrylic on canvas 70cm x 60cm
This is the beginnings of my second painting in this series. I always like to challenge myself and trust me, these buildings are most definitely a challenge! I can see it coming together now which is always very pleasing…….watch this space!
